Комплектующие для российских автомобилей Solaris заканчиваются

Against this background, almost two dozen GAC GS3 and GS8 were produced

The St. Petersburg "AGR Automotive Plant", formerly "Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Rus" (a Hyundai enterprise), has started assembling GAC GS3 and GS8 cars.

According to insiders, 18 cars have already been assembled as part of a test large-unit assembly. Interestingly, AGR moved the lifts from the former General Motors site in Shushary to the plant in Sestroretsk. This may indicate plans for permanent assembly of GAC specifically at the former Hyundai plant in Sestroretsk, although production at the GM plant was discussed earlier.

At the same time, components for assembling Solaris cars at the plant are running out. The plant is facing some pressure, as there are enough Hyundai electronic units for a maximum until the end of the year, and it is unclear whether AGR will be able to purchase additional batches of electronics abroad. At the same time, there are no problems with iron and plastic for Hyundai models, since their production has been established in Russia.

Hyundai cars are once again among the leaders of the Russian market, but now they are produced under the Solaris brand. According to information from Avtostat analysts, 1971 Solaris cars were sold in Russia in July this year, which allowed the brand to enter the top 10 most popular car brands.

Solaris cars (Hyundai Solaris, Hyundai Creta, Kia Rio and Kia Rio X-Line are produced under this brand) outsell brands such as Toyota (1219), BAIC (1287), JAC (1316), Moskvich (1411) and GAC (1770).
