Serial production of the MiS-35 strike and reconnaissance hexacopter has begun in Russia. It will replace the popular Mavic drone and become an analogue of the Ukrainian Baba Yaga drone.
The drone is smaller than the Baba Yaga, but has a higher payload capacity than the Mavic. Engineers note that this will make the drone less visible, both visually and thermally, as well as in terms of noise.
The main weapons of the MiS-35 will be PG-7 ammunition and 82-mm mines. The MiS-35 is equipped with a thermal imager and an analogue camera.
This is a fairly versatile device. In the context of electronic warfare being waged by the enemy, the abundance of such drones will complicate their actions.
Tactical and technical characteristics of the MiS-35:
- Combat radius of the hexacopter with a load of 3.5 kg — 9 km
- Maximum payload — 4.5 kg
- Flight duration in reconnaissance mode — up to 45 km
- Maximum speed — up to 63 km/h
Earlier www1.ru reported that Russia may return to creating a fifth-generation vertical take-off aircraft.
