A prototype of an AI-based system for determining the freshness of fruits was presented. The development was carried out by Russian specialists from St. Petersburg State Electrotechnical University "LETI" together with Indian colleagues.
The program determines the ripeness of apples, bananas, and oranges based on images of the fruits. In addition, the system analyzes sensor readings from the fields. They show the level of water in the soil, humidity, temperature, as well as the presence of harmful substances.
The system will be used to monitor fruit growth and determine the freshness of products during harvesting. The accuracy of the work is stated at 90%.
