Российский истребитель Су-34 разбился в Волгоградской области

There are no ground destructions or casualties after the crash

The Ministry of Defense reported the crash of a Russian Aerospace Forces Su-34 during a scheduled training flight. The preliminary causes of the crash have not yet been announced; a commission from the Russian Aerospace Forces is working at the scene.

According to the department, the flight was performed without ammunition, "the crew ejected, there is no threat to the pilots' lives." The fighter crashed to the ground in a deserted place, there were no deaths or injuries on the ground, and there was no destruction.

The Su-34 fighter-bomber is part of the backbone of the Russian front-line aviation's strike power. It destroys ground, surface and air targets of the enemy, infrastructure facilities covered by air defense systems and located at significant distances from the airfield of basing.

The Su-34 is capable of using a wide range of unguided and guided aviation weapons — from cruise missiles to FAB-3000 aerial bombs. The latest batch of these fighters entered the troops in June 2024.

The aircraft can operate under enemy fire and electronic countermeasures day and night, in simple and complex meteorological conditions. In some cases, the "Sushki" can be controlled by autopilot, and the prospect of developing a remote control system for them is also known.
