Russian infantry units of the Armed Forces on the front lines are using a new infantry flamethrower "Beard", which is designed for fighting in urban areas. This is an analogue of a reactive anti-tank grenade, only its warhead is equipped with a thermobaric composition.
The flamethrower was developed by the concern "Techmash" (part of the state corporation "Rostec"). "Beard" was developed on the basis of the reactive assault grenade RSHG-2 and is intended for arming flamethrower units of chemical troops as a lighter and less powerful alternative to the RPO-A "Bumblebee" flamethrower.
Military expert Alexei Leonkov explained that the device is also used as an anti-tank weapon. According to him, a special pyrogel, when it hits the armor of a tank, burns through it, damages the vehicle and can provoke the detonation of ammunition.
This is such an analogue of an anti-tank grenade. Pyrogel, when it hits the armor of a tank, burns through it due to extremely high temperature and causes damage. If the mixture hits the ammunition, it detonates.
