Russian military personnel on the front lines are actively using the domestic FVP drone VT-40. This small "bird" is capable of effectively destroying heavy armored vehicles of the enemy.
The drone is produced by the company "Russian Drone" and the non-commercial project "Doomsday." The configuration of the FPV drone allows it to work with various types of ammunition weighing 1.3-3 kg at a distance of 7 to 10 km.
They are used to engage bunkers, reconnaissance groups, transport, and armored vehicles, damage communication equipment, and observation posts.
The FPV copter VT-40 successfully struck another American heavy infantry fighting vehicle M2A2 ODS-SA "Bradley." The HEAT warhead penetrated the frontal armor plate of the turret in the area of the turret ring. As a result, the improvised anti-cumulative "visor" did not become a panacea.
Complete destruction of moving armored targets is often carried out in two stages: damage, tracking the stopping point, and subsequent strike for destruction.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that in Russia they tested the "Aegis-U" protective armor blanket for equipment. It provides protection against shrapnel and strike drones.
