Solaris brand nameplates have started to be glued on Solaris HS cars (renamed Hyundai Solaris). A video recording showing cars with new nameplates was published on the Internet.
Previously, cars arrived at dealers with the badge space taped over. Buyers were offered to decorate the car with a Hyundai badge themselves.
As a reminder, cars under the Solaris brand began to be produced at the former Hyundai plant in St. Petersburg this year. We are talking about large-unit assembly with painting, welding, and stamping of cars. Cars under the Solaris brand are Hyundai Solaris, Hyundai Creta, Kia Rio, and Kia Rio X-Line, which have received new names. Assembly is carried out without agreement with Hyundai, which has left the Russian market.
It is worth noting that in the new car market in Russia, Solaris brand cars remain practically the only foreign cars that do not have Chinese roots.
