Employees of the Irkutsk Aviation Plant have energized a prototype MC-21-310 aircraft with tail number 73055 (MC.0012) in a partially import-substituted configuration.
It is noted that this is one of the important stages in testing the aircraft's power supply system. Engineers are checking the correct connection of distribution devices to onboard and ground power sources.
After that, ground tests will begin in the final assembly shop. Next, the MC-21-310 will be transferred to the flight test station of the aircraft plant. It will be prepared for flight in an updated modification.
Currently, 12 aircraft of this type are being assembled at the Irkutsk Aviation Plant. They are awaiting deliveries of Russian parts. The MC-21-310 with tail number 73057 (MC.0013), which will be fully import-substituted, will make its first flight in the summer of 2024.
Earlier it was reported that the passenger aircraft Il-114-300 received a new engine.
