The train for high-speed railways (HSR) will receive a digital control system based on artificial intelligence (AI) technologies, as confirmed by the presentation materials of Oleg Toni, Deputy Head of Russian Railways, which he showed in the Federation Council.
It is specified that the maximum speed of the electric train is 400 km/h, and the cabin will be able to accommodate about 460 passengers. The construction is being carried out by the company "Sinara - Transport Machines" with the participation of Russian Railways.
The passenger electric train is planned to be further modified for the transportation of high-yield and special cargo. Such trains will provide for the possibility of quick replacement of cabin components.
Production is expected to become localized. The first train will begin to be assembled in 2026. It is known that in 2024, about 21.7 billion rubles of extra-budgetary funds will be allocated for the development of HSR.
The Ministry of Transport of Russia reported that the construction is planned to be completed and traffic will be launched on the first HSR from Moscow to St. Petersburg in 2028. The electric train will cover the distance between the two capitals in just 2 hours and 15 minutes. Sberbank may join the project.
