Russian Automotive Industry Lacks Parts for SuperKamAZ "Robocop"

The necessary domestic gearboxes and axles with a large margin of safety do not yet exist, and foreign ones are "unfriendly"

The fate of the new unmanned KamAZ "Atlant 49 Robocop", which recently surfaced online, is in question. It was found to contain "unfriendly" components that cannot be replaced with domestic counterparts: they have not yet been created or produced in Russia.

"Atlant 49 Robocop" is assembled in a single copy for testing in Kemerovo at a coal mine, but may remain the only one of its kind

"Autoreview" found out that the wheeled drone has a domestic gas engine, a six-cylinder 13-liter KAMAЗ‑910 turbodiesel adapted for methane. But the gearbox of this dump truck is American, an Allison automatic, and the axles are Finnish from Sisu. Together they help to transport 72 tons: 50 tons of cargo and 22 tons of the dump truck itself.

The Russian automotive industry does not yet have analogues with similar parts with a large margin of safety. The details that allow the dump truck to move autonomously also remain a mystery - they may also turn out to be "unfriendly".

The concern does not name the timing for the start of mass production of "Robocop", unlike other unmanned dump trucks, "Jupiter" and "Shuttle".
