The Ministry of Industry and Trade reported on successful air tests of the new domestic airliner Il-96-400M. It is planned to be used for the development of air communication in Russian regions.
The plane spent 26 minutes in the air. During this time, it climbed to a height of up to 2000 meters at a speed of up to 390 km / h.
The experimental sample of the aircraft showed excellent performance of all systems, produced in Russia, including avionics. Most of the high-precision equipment is assembled at the enterprises of the State Corporation Rostec.
The Il-96-400M is a deeply modernized version of the Il-96-300. The first flight of this new airliner was repeatedly postponed, it was supposed to take place in 2022. This year, it was supposed to be the highlight of the MAKS-2023, but the show was cancelled.
