Russia aims to achieve technological sovereignty in microelectronics and is entering a race with China, Japan, and the Netherlands, who produce microchips independently. Belarus also joins the race. This was stated by the Deputy Head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia, Vasily Shpak.
According to him, in an interview with RIA "Novosti", the production of the Russian lithograph for a topology of 350 nanometers will start next year. The equipment for producing chips with a topology of 130 nanometers will be operational in 2026.
Look, technologies from 45 nanometers and below are predominantly used for processors and memory — this is approximately 10-15% of the market in terms of money and quantity. All the rest of microelectronics, which are microcontrollers, power electronics, telecommunications circuits, automotive electronics, and much more, will work based on the requirements of technology and economics in the range of topological sizes of 350-65 nanometers for many years to come, and this is about 60% of the market. According to experts, this technology is in high demand in the world and will be in demand for a long time. At least 10 years.
Polygon for testing will be based on those companies that have already been formed, in regions where there are enterprises with microelectronics needs. As expected, polygons on their territories will be accepted by Moscow, Zelenograd, St. Petersburg and Novosibirsk.
Previously, GK "Beshtau" announced the launch of a factory for the production of domestic boards for electronics in 2024. There will be producing boards of the fourth, fifth and sixth classes of accuracy.
