Не гнаться за США и Китаем: эксперт предложил построить больше корветов на базе МРК «Каракурт»

Russian shipyards have everything necessary to create Project 22800 ships

Russia should not enter the race with the US and China for leadership in the World Ocean, it is better to focus on protecting its own shores. This will require building more corvette-class ships (ships are designed for patrol and escort services, anti-submarine and anti-aircraft defense of naval bases). This is according to military expert Sergei Marzhetsky.

According to Marzhetsky, these ships can be built on the basis of small missile ships (MRK) "Karakurt" (project 22800) with increased displacement.

"Karakurts-PLO" (anti-submarine defense) could indeed be built quickly at three shipyards at once, using the existing component base.

If we simplify project 20380 (multi-purpose warships with guided missile weapons of the near and far sea zone), then it is suitable for creating a medium-displacement anti-submarine corvette, the expert added.

The niche between corvettes and frigates could be occupied by project 11356R (Burevestnik). About 6 of these could be built in Kaliningrad for the needs of the Russian Navy.
