The crew of the diesel-electric submarine "Magadan" of Project 636.6, code "Varshavyanka," of the Pacific Fleet (TOF), during exercises, performed a deep-sea dive to a depth of 240 m in the Avacha Bay in Kamchatka. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Defense.
During the drills, the submarine crew checked the operation of all mechanisms and systems of the submarine, and also practiced the algorithm of actions when controlling the ship at great depths.
After that, "Magadan" successfully surfaced and continued activities in accordance with the fleet's combat training plan. Representatives of the fleet added that the task at sea was ensured by the corvette "Gremyashchiy" and the rescue vessel "Georgy Kozmin".
The "Magadan" submarine, capable of carrying "Kalibr" missiles, was accepted into the TOF in October 2021. A year after acceptance, the crew made an inter-fleet transit along the Northern Sea Route and arrived in Vladivostok to its permanent base.
