In 2024, the Belarusian Armed Forces adopted the Buk-MB2 medium-range anti-aircraft missile system (SAM), which is a modification of the Soviet Buk system (GRAU index — 9K37, NATO codification — SA-11 Gadfly, "Gadfly").

The Buk-MB2 SAM system includes:

  • self-propelled firing unit 9A310MB2K
  • launcher-loader 9A39MB2K
  • technical maintenance vehicle MTO 9V881MB
  • technical maintenance vehicle MTO-ATMB
  • transport vehicle 9T243MB
  • mobile distribution device PRU-2MB
  • mobile power plant PESMB

The anti-aircraft missile system is equipped with a 9M38MB missile of Belarusian design.

Characteristics of the self-propelled firing unit:

9A310MB2K destroys air targets according to target designation data and in autonomous mode.

  • Maximum speed of targets hit — 1200 m/s
  • Detection range of targets such as MiG-29 aircraft — 95 km
  • Acquisition range of targets such as MiG-29 aircraft — 85 km
  • Automatic optoelectronic system
  • Communication range — 1000 m

The promotion of the Buk-MB2 SAM system to foreign markets is handled by the state enterprise Belvneshpromservice.
