Russian air defense units are equipped with Pantsir-S anti-aircraft missile and gun systems (SAM systems). Footage has emerged of the complex's missile and cannon weaponry being guided towards a target.
Crews of the Pantsir-S anti-aircraft missile and gun systems monitor the airspace around the clock above the positions of Russian troops in the border regions.
The Pantsir-S complex is designed for close-range protection of civilian and military facilities from air attack weapons in any weather, climate, and electronic warfare environment, day and night. The system has repeatedly destroyed Western ATACMS and Storm Shadow missiles.
The Pantsir's armament consists of 12 anti-aircraft guided missiles, six in two transport and launch containers. The complex is also armed with two rapid-firing 30 mm cannons.

- Maximum speed of targets engaged — 1000 m/s
- Engagement zone of an aircraft with an effective scattering area (ESA) of 2 m² and a flight speed of 300 m/s:

- Cannon armament — 200-4000 m in range, 0-3000 m in altitude
