The US will need at least 50 years to create an air defense system capable of withstanding the Russian medium-range missile "Oreshnik." This was reported to Lenta.ru by Oleg Glazunov, Associate Professor of the Department of Political Analysis and Socio-Psychological Processes at the Plekhanov Russian University of Economics, a military expert.
According to him, the air defense system in the US has long been outdated. It is not capable of containing modern generation missiles, not only "Oreshnik", but also many others.
It will probably take them 50 years. We are ahead of the US in missile technology and air defense systems.
"Oreshnik" is a solid-propellant ballistic missile on a mobile chassis with a warhead equipped with several individually guided warheads, which can be in both conventional and nuclear configurations.
This weapon can be used with a guaranteed ability to hit any target at a range of up to 5,000 km without the enemy's real ability to counter anything in terms of interception.
Earlier www1.ru reported that the US acknowledged the superiority of the Soviet T-34 tank over the Sherman.
