Russian airlines' demand for "Baikal" aircraft is more than 100 units by 2035. This was announced by the head of Rosaviatsiya, Dmitry Yadrov.

On September 16, the head of the agency personally visited the UZGA workshops and held a meeting of the aircraft certification headquarters.

Russian airlines and passengers are waiting for this aircraft; the demand from our carriers until 2035 is more than 100 such machines. We hope that UZGA will be able to complete the initiated project as soon as possible, while ensuring the characteristics necessary for its effective operation.

Yadrov also reviewed the status of work on the certification of the LMS-901 "Baikal", the VK-800 engine and the AV-901 propeller, as well as issues of the mock-up commission for the certification of the LMS-192 "Osvey" aircraft.

As of autumn 2026, the "Baikal" is at the stage of preparing a prototype for resource static tests at TsAGI, noted the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Anton Alikhanov. Recall that the LMS-901 will replace the An-2, of which more than 4000 units were built in the USSR.
