Russian machine builders are to deliver four more turbines for power plants in four regions of the country by the end of 2026. After supply delays, manufacturers have switched to updated schedules, and the total number of machines delivered over two years will reach 15, said Minister of Industry and Trade Anton Alikhanov at the TNF forum.

In 2025, customers received six turbines, and another five in 2026. By the end of the year, equipment is planned to be delivered for facilities in Moscow and Sverdlovsk regions, Yakutia, and Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug.

For the energy sector, this means a transition from eliminating accumulated backlogs to working according to an approved schedule, although the delivery times themselves have previously become a problem for modernization projects.

Alikhanov linked the disruptions primarily to sanctions pressure. After the deadlines were revised, the supply schedules were re-approved at the level of government commissions, after which manufacturers began to implement them according to a new scheme.

A separate limitation for the industry was the shortage of domestic large-sized blanks: after the introduction of requirements for the use of Russian products, demand for them sharply increased, and foundry enterprises did not have time to increase production.

One of the key elements in restoring supplies is the expansion of Russian production of energy turbines. "Silovye Mashiny" plans to produce seven gas and 14 steam turbines in 2026, and after expanding capacity from 2029, expects to produce 10 gas machines per year.
