ODK for the first time showcased the E70/8RD marine gas turbine engine at the TNF-2026 forum in Tyumen. The engine is rated for 8 MW and can automatically switch from natural gas to diesel fuel without stopping or reducing load, which is especially important for autonomous power plants on offshore facilities.

The E70/8RD was developed by the Rybinsk enterprise "ODK-Saturn" and is intended for generator sets of offshore oil and gas platforms, ship turbogenerators, and floating gas turbine power plants. At the output shaft, the engine develops 8.68 MW, and its efficiency according to ISO 2314 is 34.4%. With dimensions of 3.95 × 1.92 × 1.98 m, the engine's mass on the frame reaches 4.8 tons.

The dual-fuel scheme allows the use of gaseous fuel, including natural and associated petroleum gas, or liquid fuel – diesel fuel and kerosene. Switching between them is performed automatically directly under load, so changing the available fuel source does not require stopping the power generating equipment.

Based on the E70/8RD, "ODK Engineering" is creating the GTA-8R marine gas turbine unit with a nominal power of 8 MW. The project provides for a compact layout, vertical exhaust, placement of oil tanks on a common frame, and an air purification system; the first samples of the unit are planned for release in 2027. The development is being carried out under the national project "New Atomic and Energy Technologies."
