The 10,000 hp DV71L gas turbine engine is entering the final stage of overhaul at "Dieselzipsersvis" (part of the military-industrial holding "Kingisepp Machine-Building Plant" — KMZ). Weighing approximately 3.1 tons, the unit develops about 3.2 hp per kilogram of its own weight, and after restoration, its performance must be confirmed by bench tests.

The DV71L of the UGT 6000 series was created by "Zorya-Mashproekt" and belongs to industrial gas turbine engines used to drive electric generators and gas compressors. Its nominal power is 10,000 hp at a rotational speed of 10,000 rpm, with an efficiency of 32%. The engine dimensions reach 3.2 × 1.6 × 1.8 m, so despite its relatively compact size, it is capable of providing power of about 6 MW.

During the overhaul, the engine undergoes disassembly, defect detection, and restoration of components, followed by assembly and adjustment. For the DV71L, control of the rotors and the gas turbine section is especially important: the design includes an eight-stage low-pressure compressor, a nine-stage high-pressure compressor, and a tubular-annular combustion chamber with ten flame tubes.

The final stage includes a comprehensive check of the assembled unit, preparation of repair documentation, and bench acceptance tests. It is based on their results that the engine's compliance with the specified operational parameters can be confirmed before delivery to the customer.
