The Altai Tire Plant has completed the development of new tires for Russian MC-21 and SJ-100 aircraft. All qualification tests have been passed on the first selection, and certificates of conformity for component products (SGKI) have been obtained, the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade reported following the visit of Minister Anton Alikhanov to the Altai Krai.

The Altai Tire Plant is the only manufacturer of aviation tires in Russia, also holds leading positions in the production of agricultural and industrial tires, and a significant share of the truck tire market. Alikhanov called the restoration of domestic aircraft manufacturing a special state priority and a task set by the president.

Obtaining SGKI means that the tires meet aviation safety requirements and can be installed on production aircraft. Previously, dependence on foreign suppliers of aircraft tires was not reported, but the presence of a single domestic manufacturer closes a critical need for the MC-21 and SJ-100 programs.
