Russian troops received a new batch of "Pantsir" family complexes, and it concerns two variants of the system at once – the mobile "Pantsir-S" and the stationary "Pantsir-SMD". Rostec announced this.

The main feature of the delivery is that the capabilities of "Pantsir" are expanded not only due to the platform itself, but also thanks to different types of missiles. As the state corporation notes, the complex can use standard anti-aircraft guided missiles, hypersonic SAMs, and short-range interceptor missiles.
At the same time, the composition of the ammunition can be combined depending on the task. This approach allows using one system against air targets of different types, without being limited to any one type of threat.

The mobile "Pantsir-S" is designed to cover objects and troop groupings from aircraft, missiles, and drones. The stationary "Pantsir-SMD" received separate development and has already been used to repel massive attacks.
Earlier it became known that the "Pantsir-S1M" air defense systems in the Moscow region received new short-range TKB-1055 "Gvozd" missiles to protect against drones. Their advantage over the basic SAM is a package of four salvos, which is mounted in the launcher.
