The Pantsir series of anti-aircraft missile systems (SAM) have begun to effectively counter drones, cruise missiles, jet and guided artillery shells. The peculiarity of the modernized complex was revealed in the Rostec State Corporation.
The Pantsir's ammunition load has been replenished with new ammunition — mini-missiles for close interception. The ammunition is designed to engage drones, both over the front line and when covering important objects.
Now one "Pantsir" will be able to carry not 12 missiles, but 48 at once, in order to increase the efficiency of intercepting small drones, which have become one of the significant threats.
The expanded ammunition load of the Pantsir complexes due to mini-missiles is especially relevant for repelling mass raids of small drones, including various types of FPV drones. Now one "Pantsir-SMD-E" can destroy dozens of UAVs.
