An examination training session on manual control of the "Progress MS" cargo spacecraft in teleoperator mode was held at the Cosmonaut Training Center, TASS reported from the CTC. The main crew member of the Crew-13 mission, Sergey Teteryatnikov, and his backup, Arutyun Kiviran, alternately practiced docking with different ISS modules.

Each completed four docking scenarios — both on the illuminated side of the station and in the shadow. Simultaneously, instructors introduced abnormal situations that the cosmonauts had to recognize, vocalize, and independently counter. The quality of communication with the ground control center was assessed separately.

According to Teteryatnikov, he focused on clear and timely reports to Earth. This control mode is used when automatic docking is not possible. The launch of the Crew-13 mission on the Crew Dragon spacecraft from Cape Canaveral is planned no earlier than September 12. The crew also includes NASA astronauts Jessica Watkins and Luke Delaney, and Canadian Space Agency astronaut Joshua Kutryk.

NASA plans to extend the agreement with Roscosmos on cross-flights to the International Space Station (ISS) for another one or one and a half years, said Dana Weigel, ISS program manager.
