After drone attacks, the Orsk Oil Refinery has completely ceased operations. Important elements of the plant's infrastructure were damaged during the attack.

Orenburg Oblast Governor Evgeny Solntsev announced that it would take up to six months to restore production. In this regard, the region will have to increase fuel supplies from other sources.

The governor noted that the damaged equipment was manufactured abroad, which complicates its repair due to difficulties with spare parts supply. Authorities are considering a long-term recovery plan and adjusting logistics to compensate for the loss of domestic petroleum product production.

Against the backdrop of the refinery shutdown, the retail fuel market is experiencing additional pressure. In Orenburg Oblast, according to the governor, about 80% of the 287 gas stations are operating, with priority given to special transport when dispensing fuel.

The problem extends beyond one region: today, "Pervyy Tekhnicheskiy" reported that gasoline shortages are again being recorded in various parts of Russia. In some regions, fuel dispensing was limited to a certain volume, and some gas stations ran out of certain types of gasoline. Against this background, the shutdown of another refinery could increase the load on interregional supplies and require additional fuel volumes from other oil refining centers.
