The transition of companies to Russian security certificates may turn out to be significantly more expensive than it seems. Although the certificates themselves are distributed free of charge, for large businesses with 10 to 50 thousand employees, adapting IT systems can cost 10–50 million rubles. Such estimates are provided by "Reksoft" and "Astra Group".

The reason lies in the scale of the restructuring. Currently, more than 90% of certificates in the Russian market remain foreign, and corporate infrastructure has been configured for years specifically for them. When switching to domestic solutions, it will be necessary to check program compatibility, change settings, and update outdated software.

Many problems may arise, especially with old corporate systems. Some information in them may be displayed incorrectly, and certain extensions may cause freezes and cache errors. In some cases, companies will even have to update their operating systems.

For ordinary users, the transition is much simpler: the Ministry of Digital Development recommends installing "Yandex Browser", which supports Russian certificates. But for large businesses, one browser is not enough – the main expenses will fall precisely on the deep adaptation of the entire internal IT infrastructure.
