The Siberian Circular Photon Source (SKIF) will reach its design capacity with a thousand employees, half of whom are researchers. Currently, about 600 people work at the facility. This was announced by the head of the Ministry of Education and Science, Valery Falkov.

The personnel training program was launched several years ago together with Novosibirsk State University (NSU). Specialists are trained at different levels of professional education — in master's and postgraduate programs. SKIF is a 4+ generation synchrotron radiation source with an energy of 3 gigaelectronvolts (GeV), a complex of 34 buildings and structures.
President of the Russian Academy of Sciences Gennady Krasnikov noted: more than 90% of the equipment and elements of the facility are domestically produced. Initially, many imported components were assumed, but sanctions forced them to do everything themselves. Many scientists returned to Russia to work at SKIF, which is among at least the top five photon source accelerators in the world.
