The Russian aerospace company BUREAU 1440 (part of ICS Holding) and ELGA Management Company signed an agreement at the "Digital Solutions" forum to test a service based on a low-orbit satellite constellation. The document was signed remotely using electronic signatures during a live broadcast from the Elga coal deposit in Yakutia. The participants were 5,000 kilometers apart. Communication for the electronic document management system was provided by a satellite channel based on the BUREAU 1440 low-orbit constellation, with connection organized by the company's proprietary subscriber terminal.

According to the agreement, ELGA Management Company and BUREAU 1440 will test the service on the territory of the "Port Elga" marine coal terminal in Khabarovsk Krai and at the Elga coal deposit in Yakutia. The parties will also work out scenarios for using satellite broadband access for mining and logistics tasks.
In the future, a high-speed satellite channel could become the basic infrastructure for video analytics, digital twins, and unmanned coal transportation by mining dump trucks. With its help, ELGA will be able to increase control over facility safety, operational response, and improve working conditions for employees in hard-to-reach areas.
