AvtoVAZ will release updated Lada Vesta and Iskra with new power units and options in the fourth quarter of 2026.

The lineup of 1.6 and 1.8-liter gasoline engines was introduced last summer. Both units were created as part of the Lada Azimut crossover project, the serial production of which started in Tolyatti on September 25. According to the publication "Avtonovosti dnya", the engines received 37 new and modernized parts, but retained the "non-interference" design. The pistons have cutouts for the full valve stroke - valve-piston contact in an emergency is completely excluded.

Both engines received a complex of improvements: a cylinder block with new oil nozzles, a new cylinder head, a new intake module, a new connecting rod-piston group with rings with reduced tangential force, and an original camshaft profile. The result is an increase in power and torque.

For the first time in the Lada lineup, the 1.6-liter engine used a variable valve timing system on the intake. Power increased from 106 to 120 hp, maximum torque - from 148 to 154 Nm, at 2500 rpm - from 134 to 140 Nm, at 1000 rpm - from 109 to 112 Nm.

The 1.8-liter unit also gained: power - from 122 to 132 hp, maximum torque - from 170 to 175 Nm, at 2500 rpm - from 150 to 158 Nm, at 1000 rpm - from 124 to 132 Nm. Plus a new cylinder block, which simplifies the adaptation of the engine to different gearboxes.
