The updated Russian SJ-100 will be produced with a 103-seat economy class cabin, although earlier reports indicated a factory two-class configuration for 100 people with a separate "Comfort" zone. New details about the passenger space were revealed by the Komsomolsk-on-Amur branch of PAO "Yakovlev".

However, earlier, the Ministry of Industry and Trade reported a different factory scheme for the import-substituted SJ-100 with PD-8 engines. It was assumed that the aircraft would be supplied to carriers with a two-class cabin for 100 passengers: the front part was to be designated as "Comfort" class with increased legroom, and the remaining seats as economy class.

The interior for the SJ-100 is being created by a Russian manufacturer from Kazan. Outwardly, the new aircraft's cabin will be similar to previous Superjet versions, but the key difference of the airliner lies in the transition to domestic systems and components.

The SJ-100 is being developed as part of an import substitution program and is intended to become a new version of the Superjet family with Russian PD-8 engines and onboard equipment.
