The first production MC-21-310 with PD-14 engines was compared to Boeing and Airbus on the main indicator of a passenger aircraft – fuel consumption. Yakovlev stated that the Russian airliner corresponds to the level of Russia's current aircraft fleet. This was announced by Anatoly Gaidansky, Director of the Engineering Center of PAO Yakovlev.

According to the specialist, the new Russian airliner maintains a competitive level of fuel efficiency in its class.

Yes, now, of course, there are already Neo-class aircraft that slightly surpass us in fuel efficiency. But, again, they do not surpass us catastrophically.
Anatoly Gaidansky, Director of the Engineering Center of PAO Yakovlev

Another important parameter of the Russian airliner remains its flight range. The MC-21-310 is capable of covering up to 3800 km, which allows it to be used on approximately 80% of domestic passenger routes.

Experts note that efficiency will be one of the key factors in aircraft operation, as fuel consumption directly affects the cost of flights for airlines.

The first production MC-21-310 with Russian systems and the PD-14 engine first took to the skies on August 3. The new airliner spent 1 hour and 23 minutes in the air. The aircraft is expected to become the basis of a new generation of the domestic fleet of medium-haul airliners.
