Soldiers of the Novorossiysk Guards Airborne Assault Mountain Division of the Airborne Forces received a new shortened modification of the Kalashnikov AK-12K assault rifle. This was reported by the Russian Ministry of Defense.
The department explained that the combat experience of the AK-12 model of 2023 showed that the dimensions of the weapon are the main requirement for assault units.
The newest shortened AK-12K model of 2024 was created taking into account the requests of the Airborne Forces military personnel.
AK-12Ks are convenient for assault troops and scouts. Assault rifles are suitable for shooting in urban environments and trenches, and for close combat.
Features of AK-12K:
- Convenience of aiming thanks to the flip-up sight with holes of various diameters
- The trigger mechanism received a two-way translator-fuse (convenience for right-handed and left-handed fighters)
- To attach a low-noise shooting device, you do not need to remove the flame arrester
- Handguard with reinforced mount
- The buttstock is length adjustable
- The magazine has "windows" for visual control of the amount of ammunition
