The SJ-100 will be able to land on runways approximately 1900 meters long after another modernization. The aircraft also received an integrated airstair for operations at unprepared airfields and has fully transitioned to Russian onboard systems. This was announced by Yegor Popov, director of the Yakovlev production center in Komsomolsk-on-Amur.

According to him, horizontal winglets were integrated into the aircraft's design, which improved its takeoff and landing characteristics. Thanks to this, the minimum runway length required for the aircraft to land is about 1.9 thousand meters. This expands the list of airports where the SJ-100 can operate, especially on regional routes.

Another innovation is the integrated passenger airstair. Now the aircraft is capable of independently boarding and disembarking passengers even at airfields where ground infrastructure is absent.

Popov also reported that the import substitution program for the SJ-100 has been completed. All key aircraft systems have been replaced with Russian analogues, including the windshield cleaning system, power plant, hydraulics, electrical power supply, and onboard control system.

Earlier, Khabarovsk Krai Governor Dmitry Demeshin reported that 27 SJ-100 aircraft are in various stages of readiness at the production site of the PAO "Yakovlev" branch in Komsomolsk-on-Amur. 42 aircraft have already been contracted for Russian airlines, with high demand expected for the airliner primarily on domestic routes and in the Far East regions.
