Rosaviatsia annulled the operator's certificate of "IzhAvia" airline. Starting August 1, the carrier will not be able to perform commercial passenger flights and will suspend ticket sales, the agency announced on July 30.

The reason was critical inconsistencies in the flight safety management system. Restrictions on the certificate had been in effect for about three months. During this time, the airline was instructed to revise its safety management system, implement personnel and structural changes, and inspect the departments responsible for airworthiness and maintenance. The requirements were not met within the specified timeframe.

However, already purchased tickets are not cancelled. By February 1, 2027, "IzhAvia" had sold almost 46 thousand tickets for routes from Izhevsk to Moscow, St. Petersburg, Sochi, Kaliningrad, and Yekaterinburg.

To fulfill its obligations to passengers, the carrier agreed to reallocate flights with "Aeroflot", S7, Red Wings, and "Severny Veter". "Pobeda", "NordStar", "UVT Aero", and "Smartavia" also confirmed the technical possibility of transfer.

Passengers will be sent information about the new carrier no later than 24 hours before departure. If the proposed option is not suitable or the flight is cancelled, a full involuntary refund can be issued.

In Udmurtia, the suspension is called a forced measure. According to Roman Efimov, Chairman of the regional government, "IzhAvia" aircraft are planned to be leased to other carriers while the company addresses the regulator's comments.

For the company itself, the question may now be not about maintaining air transportation, but about the fate of its assets. The fleet includes two Boeing 737-800s and four Yak-42s. Yak-42s do not currently perform regular flights, while the Boeing 737-800 remains a common aircraft type in the Russian market.

At the same time, "IzhAvia" cannot be called a small carrier: in 2025, it transported about 674 thousand passengers, and its revenue reached 6.88 billion rubles.
