The online cinema Wink, in cooperation with the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations, has launched emergency alerts directly during viewing. The company claims to be the first among Russian video services to implement such a function.
The system receives data from the "Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations" application and automatically displays warnings on TVs, smartphones, and other active user devices in the relevant region.
Now important regional information will be available on any active screen displaying video service content.
To deliver messages, Wink and Rostelecom's IT cluster developed their own solution, independent of foreign push services. The platform is also on the Ministry of Digital Development's whitelist and remains accessible during temporary mobile internet restrictions.
Pre-downloaded movies and series will remain available even without internet – they can be watched in a shelter or another place where there is no connection at all.
