Silovye Mashiny expects that in 2028, gas turbine production will decrease by at least half compared to previously planned levels. The reason for this is the postponement of power plant construction completion dates, which has led to some future orders for energy equipment not being included in the company's portfolio. This was announced by Alexey Podkolzin, CEO of Silovye Mashiny, at Russian Energy Week – 2026.

We already know that in 2028, there will be a decrease in gas machine production volumes by at least two times from what we planned. For now, it's two times, but it might be more. For steam machines, we see a decrease starting from 2029,
Alexey Podkolzin, CEO of Silovye Mashiny

Currently, Silovye Mashiny produces about 4 GW of energy equipment per year and expects to increase this figure to 6 GW in the next two years. However, postponements of power plant construction project deadlines affect production expansion plans. According to Podkolzin, contracts for equipment supply in 2028–2030, which the company expected to conclude, have fallen out of its portfolio.

In 2026, the company plans to produce seven gas and 14 steam turbines. For 2027, eight gas machines have been pre-contracted under agreements from previous years. At the same time, Silovye Mashiny has already managed to reduce the backlog in deliveries: the company has shipped several previously delayed machines and intends to prevent further increases in overdue deliveries.

Due to the decrease in demand for energy equipment, the company is more cautious about new investments and is focused on existing obligations.
