The construction of the first production MC-21 for Aeroflot is being finalized at the Irkutsk Aviation Plant. Simultaneously, the certification program has exceeded 100 flights, and more than 20 aircraft are in production, according to "Aviatsiya Rossii" publication.

According to the developers, two prototype MC-21s have already completed 200 test flights, 101 of which were part of the certification program.

According to Rosaviatsiya's assessment, this accounts for about 45% of the total flight tests required to obtain an updated type certificate.

At the same time, preparations for serial production are underway without waiting for the completion of certification. OAK also reported that the terms of a new contract for the supply of 90 MC-21s have been practically agreed upon, and in the future, the fleet of these airliners at Aeroflot could increase to 200 aircraft.

The certification of the import-substituted MC-21 is planned to be completed in 2027. Simultaneously, production preparation continues so that after obtaining all permits, full-scale serial deliveries to airlines can begin.
