The Russian software development industry continues to grow steadily. According to Rosstat, in May 2026, the turnover of companies engaged in software development, consulting, and related IT services increased by 28% compared to May last year, reaching 545.4 billion rubles.

The dynamics for the first five months of the year look even more significant. From January to May, the turnover of software developers grew by 41% compared to the same period in 2025. This is one of the highest indicators among major sectors of the digital economy.

Despite a slight decrease compared to April — by 0.9% — the overall trend remains positive. The growth shows that the demand for domestic software products and services continues to increase.

The IT industry as a whole also shows positive dynamics. According to Rosstat, the turnover of organizations operating in the information technology sector increased by 34.4% year-on-year in May, reaching 168.5 billion rubles. From January to May, the indicator increased by 29.1%.
