The main stage of construction of a new power boiler at Novosibirsk CHPP-3 will begin in August 2026. The project is being implemented by SGK within the framework of the federal KOMMod program. The total investment will amount to almost 30 billion rubles.
Preparations for construction are already underway. Construction infrastructure is being created on the site, a camp for contractors is being organized, and the delivery of lifting equipment and other equipment is being prepared. The project will be the first construction of new heat-generating capacity in Novosibirsk's energy sector in the post-Soviet period.
The project provides for the construction of a new boiler No. 15 with a modern flue gas cleaning system. At the same time, the main steam pipeline will be replaced with the connection of new equipment to the existing station collectors, automatic control systems will be modernized, and turbine units No. 12 and No. 14 will be updated with the restoration of the feedwater heating system.
In addition, specialists are considering the possibility of building a new chimney 250 meters high. The final decision will be made after the development of the main technical solutions is completed.
The new boiler is scheduled to be commissioned in December 2029.
At the same time, modernization continues at the station under the DPM program. Tests of the new turbine unit No. 13 have already been completed, the next stage will be the update of turbogenerator No. 11. After the completion of all works, the installed electrical capacity of Novosibirsk CHPP-3 will increase from 497 to almost 537 MW, which corresponds to an increase of approximately 8%.
Earlier, "Pervyy tekhnicheskiy" reported that a new TVF-130 turbogenerator with a capacity of 130 MW was delivered to Novosibirsk CHPP-3, which will replace a unit that has been in operation for more than 50 years.
