The Russian army has 6 MiG-35S interceptors in service. This was reported by the Telegram channel "Voevoda Veschaet".
However, the future of the platform is currently unknown, the authors noted.
6 MiGs were built. And very quickly, after the contract was signed, they were transferred to the army. The army did not order new ones.
The MiG-35 can be mass-produced, but no information about the program has been reported since 2022. Opinions are expressed that the military is more interested in the Su-75, which will begin its first flights in 2026.
Because of this, the MiG-35 allegedly again turns out to be unclaimed as a "4++" generation aircraft. However, there is no confirmation of these hypotheses yet.
