Krasnoyarsk Krai will become a new customer for Il-114-300 turboprop aircraft. The local carrier "KrasAvia" aims to purchase three liners, provided federal funding is received.
For KrasAvia, fleet renewal is a crucial point. Currently, the company serves 15 intra-regional routes, and some An-24 aircraft have been in operation for over 50 years. The Il-114-300 is designed to carry up to 66 passengers and can operate even on small airfields, making it in demand for hard-to-reach territories of Siberia.
Some airlines raised concerns about the effectiveness of the Il-114-300 on unpaved surfaces due to the too low placement of the TV7-117ST-01 engines. However, this problem was resolved, as aviation expert Oleg Panteleev pointed out.
"Pervyy Tekhnicheskiy" compared the Il-114-300 with the An-24 and found that the new model is in some ways inferior to the aircraft launched for flights back in the 70s of the last century.
