Kamchatka Not Deterred by Low-Mounted Il-114-300 Engines

The region plans to be one of the first to receive new airliners

Kamchatka Krai will be one of the first regions in Russia to receive new Il-114-300 regional aircraft to replace the outdated An-24 and An-26. This was announced by Governor Vladimir Solodov.

The operator of the new aircraft will be Kamchatka Aviation Enterprise. The fleet renewal is expected to begin with three Il-114-300 aircraft; their number will be increased later. Deliveries are expected in 2028–2029.

For us, the renewal of the regional aircraft fleet is fundamentally important, as aviation provides connectivity between the settlements of the peninsula.
Vladimir Solodov, Head of Kamchatka Krai

The Il-114-300 has already received a type certificate and can be mass-produced. However, some airlines have raised concerns about its efficiency on unpaved runways due to the excessively low placement of the TV7-117ST-01 turboprop engines.

GTLK also stated that at least 40 Il-114-300s will be delivered to Aurora, KrasAvia, and IrAero airlines.
