Russian airlines have already indicated demand for the first 40 new Il-114-300 turboprop aircraft, which have received a type certificate. Mikhail Parnev, head of GTLK, noted the importance of having these aircraft for carriers.
He specified that the industry is already ready to produce the necessary number of aircraft.
The demand from Aurora airline is estimated at approximately 20 Il-114-300 aircraft, KrasAvia – about 10 aircraft, IrAero – 6 aircraft. In total, we are talking about almost 40 aircraft.
Parnev noted that the company is working on the financial model of the project and possible sources of funding. He believes that the Il-114-300 has all the prerequisites to become the basis for updating the fleet of regional carriers for many years.
The Il-114-300 has already received a type certificate and can be mass-produced. However, some airlines have raised questions about its effectiveness on unpaved runways due to the too low position of the TV7-117ST-01 turboprop engines.
