16-meter radius and tracks under 1000 mm: Russian UMG E225C excavator recognized as the best in the competition

The 23-ton machine with a KAMA-DIZEL engine defeated more than 15 competitors

The UMG E225C crawler excavator received the main award in the “Excavator of the Year” category at the annual “Innovations in Construction Equipment in Russia” competition. More than 15 nominees competed for the title of the best, but an independent jury unanimously awarded the victory to the UMG E225C model, "Pervy Tekhnichesky" was informed by the UMG press service.

The excavator received a new modification with a KAMA-DIZEL 667 series engine with a power of 125 kW. It features reduced vibration and noise levels, which provides additional comfort to the operator. At the same time, YaMZ-534 and YaMZ-536 engines are still available in the lineup – customers can choose according to specific tasks and budget.

The designers used new, stronger steel grades from domestic manufacturers. Thanks to this, the 23-ton machine confidently handles soils of the fourth category. The standard bucket has a volume of 1.0 cubic meter. The digging depth reaches 6870 millimeters, the maximum digging radius is 10,190 millimeters.

The jury highly appreciated the unique serial solutions. For the E225C, ultra-long working equipment was developed and implemented, providing a digging radius of 16 meters and a depth of more than 12 meters. Optionally, the machine can be equipped with a track shoe width of up to 1000 millimeters. This reduces the specific ground pressure to a record 0.33 kgf/cm² – a unique solution on the market.

For work in hazardous areas, a remote control system with a range of up to twenty kilometers was provided. The new generation cabin received effective sound insulation, spacious storage for documents and clothes, as well as a compartment with cooling and heating for food and drinks. All daily maintenance points were moved to a convenient service compartment with access from ground level. The localization level of the equipment exceeds 80 percent.
