Lada Iskra Cup and Lada Vesta TCR: Two New Racing Cars from AvtoVAZ at SPIEF [Updated]

Iskra received a 218 hp turbo engine, Vesta - 350 hp, both with sequential gearboxes

AvtoVAZ presented the sports versions of Lada Vesta TCR and Lada Iskra Cup, as well as the Lada Azimut crossover in a new sea wave color "Serenade," at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. The exhibition, dedicated to the company's 60th anniversary, reflects the brand's evolution: from the very first VAZ-2101 in 1970 to the flagship crossover, whose production will begin in the third quarter.

Lada Iskra Cup is equipped with a 1.6-liter turbocharged engine producing 218 horsepower and a 6-speed sequential gearbox. The car features a lightweight body with an integrated roll cage, an aerodynamic body kit, and reinforced suspension with adjustable shock absorbers. The model is designed for a new format monocup: a season of 10 races across 5 stages will start in 2027, with crews consisting of professionals, amateurs, and media personalities.

Lada Vesta TCR is the flagship of the Lada Sport Rosneft factory team in the Russian Circuit Racing Series. The car is built on the basis of a production sedan and is equipped with a turbo engine producing about 350 horsepower.

AvtoVAZ is bringing back the monocup format to Russian motorsport — for the first time since the completion of the Lada Granta Cup project in 2014. For the factory, this is not only a sporting but also a marketing tool: the racing Iskra will be directly associated with the production model, increasing its recognition.
