Soon, the tank support combat vehicle (BMPT) "Terminator" will get a new name. This was announced by the General Director of Uralvagonzavod, Alexander Potapov.
Up to 10 thousand proposals from 20 countries have been processed. Their study has come to an end, and soon you will know the new name of the BMPT.
Recall that the saga with renaming the "Terminator" has been going on for several years. In the spring of 2025, Rostec proposed choosing a new name for the BMPT from the options "Dobrynya", "Peresvet" or "STIM" (Union of Tank and Machine).
After that, Uralvagonzavod announced a nationwide vote for a new name and promised to announce the result by the "Army-2025" forum, which was eventually canceled.
Recall that military analysts found flaws in the still "Terminator" - the complete absence of a troop compartment. The use of the BMP T-15 hull based on "Armata" would significantly increase the flexibility and versatility of the design.
