Import substitution for MC-21 and SJ-100 reaches the most critical components

Wheel-brake systems for airliners created in Balashikha

The Balashikha-based company "Rubin" presented domestic wheel-brake systems for MC-21 and SJ-100 passenger aircraft. The development was first showcased at the International Security Forum in the Moscow region.

The new components are intended for import-substituted versions of the airliners. Previously, similar systems were supplied by foreign manufacturers.

Mikhail Pestrakov, a company representative, reported that the wheel-brake systems have already undergone tests in various weather conditions. The system is responsible for braking the aircraft during its run on the runway.

In addition to the wheel-brake systems, the company presented a serial pump of its own design and the BUT brake control unit. This module monitors sensor operation and regulates braking force during landing.

Also, one of the most critical elements for the MC-21 was the composite wing. Yakovlev engineers had to re-establish the Russian school for calculating and designing structural elements from these materials.
