Uralvagonzavod made a breakthrough in creating future combat modules

The concern aims for mass production of such systems

Russia is ahead of other countries in the development of uninhabited combat modules for armored vehicles. This was announced by Alexander Potapov, CEO of the Uralvagonzavod concern.

According to him, the domestic industry is actively developing robotic combat systems to increase the range of target engagement and reduce risks for crews.

The whole world is following this path. And here we are ahead of our opponents in creating the uninhabited module of the AU project.
Alexander Potapov, head of UVZ

It should be noted that Potapov is referring to the AU-220M combat module — a remotely controlled turret with a 57 mm automatic cannon. Such a system can be used on promising infantry fighting vehicles and robotic armored vehicles.

Potapov added that the Russian approach to developing such systems is distinguished by the scale of integration and focus on mass production.

Uralvagonzavod is part of Rostec, the flagship products of the enterprise are the latest tanks T-72B3M, T-80BVM and T-90M "Proryv".
