109 million rubles for a Soviet locomotive: the legendary TEM-7A put up for sale in Siberia

The 1990 locomotive has undergone complete restoration and received modern equipment for safe operation

In the Novosibirsk region, a mainline industrial locomotive TEM-7A, manufactured in 1990, has been put up for sale on one of the classified ad platforms. The seller is asking 109 million rubles, including VAT, for the locomotive after a major overhaul.

According to the published description, the locomotive has undergone a major overhaul and its service life has been extended until 2039. The machine is equipped with a full set of new wheelset tires, an electronic speedometer, an ALSN system, an onboard control system, and video cameras on all four sides.

The seller also stated that they would prepare the locomotive for shipment at their own expense and are ready to assist the buyer with leasing arrangements.

TEM-7A series locomotives are considered among the most powerful shunting locomotives of Soviet and Russian design. They are used at large industrial enterprises, marshalling yards, and in metallurgy, where high tractive power is required when working with heavy trains. Despite the age of such machines, after major overhauls, they continue to be in demand on the market.
